I’ll never forget that great moment in Texas history when, rather than rallying troops to battle with a cry of “Remember the Alamo”… Sam Houston instead blamed the loss on the wholly insensitive treatment of Hispanics in the movie “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”.

That is why, as we all know, Texas is the northernmost of Mexico… though we have a bit of a problem with Texans swimming the Red River to seek a new life in Oklahoma.

We’ve had over a dozen “government shutdowns” in my lifetime
In NONE of them (until now) did the president refuse to negotiate.
In NONE of them (until now) were monuments barricaded to prevent visitation.
But President Stompyfoot is paying people to barricade access to the WW2 Memorial, supposedly due to the government shutdown.

This is an outside, open air memorial viewed from the sidewalk. It’s normally open 24/7. It costs extra money to block it off and man the barricades… but to make a point he’s paying people to do exactly that in a childish attempt to make the shutdown hurt.

Meanwhile, the barricade erected at the WW ONE memorial is a single panel. Why? No WW1 veterans trying to visit. He couldn’t cause any pain, so why bother?
At the same time, to create maximum irritation the president closed down:

It’s not even moderately plausible that there is a reason that doesn’t include a petty vindictive little president playing politics. Seriously… the government is shutdown, so people can’t look at the Potomac River? What’s next? Do we close the Grand Canyon to viewers?

Picking a fight with 90+ year old men doesn’t make you look manly. It doesn’t make you look statesmanlike. It just reminds us you sent more men to harass honored US veterans than you did to aid a US Ambassador attacked by radical Islamic militants at Benghazi.
Shame you aren’t as proactive against our foes as you are our heroes. These vets spent their youth storming the beaches at Normandy, Iwo Jima and Tarawa, not smoking dope with “the Choom Gang” like you.
Show them the respect they EARNED.

You openly stated you will NOT negotiate, since after all, the American people elected YOU?
Really? How do you think our congressmen got into office, a lottery? Get off your high horse, quit harassing American heroes who went to war to defend freedom, and go negotiate with the elected representatives who are doing EXACTLY the job we elected them to do. The House is the ONLY elected body in this fiasco that’s shown willingness to negotiate. You and Harry Reid have both openly declared you won’t.
Guess what… that makes this shutdown YOUR fault
Now grow the fuck up. Get to the negotiating table like a big boy. Stomping your petulant little foot at the American public won’t cut it. We aren’t impressed.

If you need a gauge by which to test Obama’s Arrogance
Consider the fact that as we hit the anniversary of the event she is famous for lying thru her teeth about… O dispatched Susan Rice to tell congress what is REALLY happening in Syria.
Susan Rice, in her role as administration apologist, went on a BS tour a year ago attributing the Benghazi attack to pissed off movie critics. How could we possibly doubt her word?
Susan Rice? Her integrity is not “questionable”, it’s non-existent.
Of course in this administration that not only NOT a vice, when coupled with undying loyalty for The Boy King it is grounds for promotion to a cabinet position. Fortunately for Ms Rice, the title “National Security Adviser” goes for exactly 30 pieces of silver.
As we approach the 1 year anniversary of the attack on Benghazi…
…an attack that killed an ambassador and three others while our drones relayed the action in real time and no help was sent… We still have yet to hear testimony from a single survivor of the attack, despite the president’s firm promise that those involved would be hunted down.
A year after the attack the administration still has not brought a single attacker to justice and still refuses to accede to a congressional demand the survivors be made available to tell their story.
Now the only time he acknowledges the attack, he calls Benghazi a “phony scandal”
If he did not that night find it worthy of sending assets for protection, and doesn’t consider THIS a cause for action, one thing is certin; his desire to place our military in harm’s way in defense of al qaida warriors in Syria is motivated by something other than deeply seated moral outrage.
The only thing “phony” is the need to risk American lives in Syria
Congress must ignore the Syrian rabbit trail and tend to business that affects OUR country.
