GREAT MOMENTS IN COMMUNITY ORGANIZING: Benedict Arnold

Let us not forget the great community organizers amongst the founding fathers. Chief amongst them, George Washington… remembered today for his historic trade of five Hessian commanders to retrieve Benedict Arnold.

Washington subsequently honored Arnold in a ceremony at the White House Rose Garden, which confused many since the White House did not yet exist. Though his soldiers persisted in pointing out Arnold had defected to the British and Washington had previously stated he would not negotiate with Hessians, he boldly refused to be swayed by their negativity.

“Remember our Community Organizer credo” he said. “We never leave a man behind.”

Arnold was subsequently given multiple promotions and all back pay he’d missed while in Great Britain. This was unfortunate for him, as he was hung by redcoats after Washington lost the war.

As they now say in DC… God Save the Queen.

Bergdahl: Blame a video? Send out Susan Rice? Deja Vu

rerunsOn the Bergdahl for 5 Taliban leaders swap… recycled answers
Congress was brought in to see a “proof of life” video from December 2013 (that’s 6 months ago) that was the basis of the need to rush this swap without a 30 day notice.

I don’t know which is worse… their math, or the decision to blame a video again.

And they sent out Susan Rice to tell obvious whoppers on Sunday?
What the heck, are we in summer re-runs already?

Seriously, Harry Reid even broke out “What difference does it make”.

I’m envisioning the White House staff sitting around with a Magic 8 ball that gives them answers to use in a scandal:

  • – I learned about it on the news
  • – It was the right thing to do
  • – The GOP is just playing politics
  • – I have executive authority to do that
  • – Blame the intel community
  • – Send Susan Rice out on Sunday
  • – What difference does it make?
  • – Blame a video

Seriously, these clowns run our country?

Obama Administration violates First Rule of Holes

digging manureFirst Susan Rice makes Sunday talk shows (that always goes well) claiming Bergdahl “served honorably and with distinction”.

[You know, except that whole capital offense desertion thing.]

Next… wet-behind-the-ears State Dept wench Marie Harf, who was maybe in elementary when the WTC fell arrogantly suggests the people in Bergdahl’s platoon are not a reliable source of information about what happened.

Then Obama’s staffers whined about “swiftboating” when reality messed up their rose garden photo op where a deserter was treated as a returning hero.

Now we have Brandon Friedman, deputy assistant secretary of public affairs at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, suggesting Bergdahl’s platoon mates, who inconveniently spilled the truth about Bergdahls “capture” and/or defection… might just be psychos.

So as you can see, the Obama administration continues to violate not only the laws of the country, but the first law of holes:

FIRST RULE OF HOLES
“When you find yourself in one…STOP DIGGING”.

By the way, I DO recognize what they’re shoveling. I’ve got horses.

GITMO Prisoner release… use of “executive authority”?

“…when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal” ~ Richard Nixon

circular-reasoning1There is a law concerning the release of prisoners in GITMO that requires the president to inform Congress of any prisoner release 30 days in advance.

What cosmic bunnyhole have we plunged down when a president claims he used “executive authority” to over-ride a law whose purpose was to deny the executive a specific piece of authority?

Am I the only one that remembers Nixon going down in flames for claiming “when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal”?

Disagree? Find the spot in the constitution that authorizes the president to decide which laws he or his exec branches will follow. Better pack a lunch while you look… it isn’t there.
