The Left Suddenly Loses Outrage

January 2011: The Shooter MUST be a symbol of the Hate-Filled-Right-Wing
You know, when the nutcase Loughner shot a bunch of people and one of the targets was Gabby Giffords, a Democrat… we were subjected to endless hair-on-fire diatribes in the media about the “hate-filled” rhetoric of the right wing, how blame should be rightfully placed at the feet of {pick a target} the Tea Party, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, et al.

No tie to the right was too weak to merit serious consideration
The acrimony and demonization filled the airtime for weeks, despite the absolute lack of any tie between the nutcase and the people being blamed. People lined up in front of cameras and hopped  to solemnly pronounce it was time for all the hate filled rhetoric from the right to cease.

On the web, folks filled the comment sections of hard left blogs like The Daily Kos and Southern Poverty Law Center to post rage-filled rants about the haters on the right OWNING this tragedy.

Good grief people
Did it occur to you that instead of being a tool of the right wing, the guy might just be a tool? Is jumping to conclusions the only exercise you ever get?

Flash Forward to this week: The FRC Shooting
A guy goes into the Family Research Council, a right wing organization which has been labelled a “hate group” loudly and publicly by the same people that blamed Loughner’s actions on hateful right-wing rhetoric. The guy goes in with a gun, he opens fire.

Turns out he’s an LGBT activist who flat out stated his attack was politically motivated.

Oddly we don’t see similar media outrage this time
We don’t hear how the hateful rhetoric of the left OWNS the event. In fact, media-wise, it’s almost a non-event. NBC and CBS barely reported the story… and left out the shooter’s own stated motive.

Guess violent hatred from the left just doesn’t fit the scripted narrative
The hypocrisy is very visible… and so transparent it is pathetic.
